The Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST) wishes to inform its stakeholders and the general public that its laboratory has been ACCREDITED by the Southern Africa Development Community Accreditation Services (SADCAS) in the scope: Chemical analysis to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 – Minerals. The laboratory has been granted a unique Accreditation Number TEST-5 0043.

GST Laboratory is the first in the East and Central African Region to attain the new ISO version of 2017 which all testing laboratories are obliged to abide to. The Accreditation came after the initial assessment that was done by the SADCAS assessors and approved by the Accreditation Approvals Committee meeting held on 15th October, 2019 in Gaborone, Botswana.

The accreditation of laboratory service has been part of GST efforts to ensure her stakeholders continue to get reliable and accurate laboratory results for better decision making in different sectors especially minerals.

Analytical results from GST laboratory are recognised internationally; hence, GST calls upon all Small, Medium and Large Scale Miners to continue analysing their mineral and rock samples at the Accredited GST laboratory to increase their effectiveness and productivity for their sustainable development and the Nation at large.
